About Taste of Shanghai

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours have not been published for this listing yet. Most businesses of this type in Chicago keep standard business hours, but call ahead to be sure, especially on weekends and holidays. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file.

With 4.1 out of 5 on Google from 41 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for chinese restaurants in Chicago. Recent reviews are the best guide.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The Liang Pi with Cumin Lamb Burger is so good, highly recommend. Really friendly service, and great food! We have now also tried the green onion pancake, beef Liang Pi, pork belly Liang pi and the noodle side combo. All really great, you just can't go wrong here!

~20$ USD poor quality food in a food court. Did not have any spoons, stated only had forks. Soup base was bland, noodles did not have good taste, and very few meat pieces given price. Threw the rest away. Would not recommend to anybody visiting Chicago.

Hidden gem with affordable pricing, great portion. I’ve always wanted to try this place out. We ordered liang pi and biang biang noodles. Both are delicious. Liang pi is mixed cold noodles with pieces of gluten, refreshing with vinegar and chili oil. Biang biang noodles is stir fry thick wide noodle with smoke flavor.

Biang-biang noodles. Go. Now. Stop what you are doing. Get the noodles.

Saw this place on a YouTube video. Did not disappoint. The pork belly burger is flavorful, sublime and simple. Definitely recommend this place if you can find it while in Chicago.
